In the past I have asked that when they winterize my boat, that they do the oil change at that time and other work, so that come spring time, all I have to do is replace the blue plugs and head out. That being said, I have had a brain fart this year and can't remember how many there are supposed to be.... when putting them back, the bag had four plugs in them, so I have put them back (two on very low part of starboard side, one on top of the other), one on the top towards the cabin area, and the fourth on the port side, about mid way...All was right with the world, until I dropped a wrench in the bilge area, and noticed another blue plug sitting in the area that was obviously NOT in the bag the mechanic left. So now I am questioning if there are supposed to be 5, and the mechanic dropped one when removing it, and just didn't bother to retrieve it and so there were only 4 in the bag? I have had some issues with competency with this marina company in the past so thought I would ask here...I have pulled up some diagrams online but I am confused as to what I am counting

I my 5.0 had 4. One of each riser, and one of each side of the block. However, my buddy's 290 has one on each riser, one on each side of the block, one in the front of the engine and one in the back of the fuel cooler (which is a pain to get to), so his had 6. It may depend on the configuration, engine, year etc... Maybe someone with an 2006 240 with a 350 can chime in. It should say in your manual.

My '06 350 Mag has 4-two on the raw water pump down low(on top of each other as you say) on the starboard side, one up top on the thermostat housing, and one down low on the port side on the water distribution housing.

Hope this helps.

Yep, my 2007 350 mag was the same.

Thanks....makes me feel better..he must have dropped one, and just replaced it in the bag...was pretty sure four was it, but started questioning it after finding the other one....

I think you are good. Just look it over good when you first crank it looking for any water going into the bilge. Should be good to go.
