How is the weather in New England?

Because It is easier than creating many posts........I am on a few discussion boards...Lazy I guess.....oh ya, I have to work too!!!

Hi John,

I saw that you were on Longboat Key. I just got back from Venice yesterday. We did a day trip up to Lido Key last week, hit the beach and St. Armands. Didn't venture any further north onto Longboat though. Maybe next time...

It was nice to be down there and seeing all the boating activity going on. Really gets you in the mood to get the boats commissioned back up north. And the intercoastal just amazes me. I love it! I wish we had something like that up here with all the restaurants, places to tie up etc.

Good luck with getting your boat ready.

Mike

Absolutely. I got about 30 yrs until retirement though... I'm only 32, but I'm learning that winters down there are the way to go! I've decided on Siesta Key... I love that place.

Best Beach going......I am hoping for 4-6 more years and each winter taking more time away.....This year I sailed for 10 days in the Spanish Islands, went to the Miami Boat show for 5 days and Longboat Key for 9 days......****, thats a lot of time.....Will be cruising next weekend if weather is okay...

Well reality has us nuts here in NE with another storm bearing down to dump up to 12" of snow on us. I really need to get launched and on the water before I go bonkers... I find myself staring at the ship traffic on www.marinetraffic.com envious that they are on the water and I'm stuck at a desk. I almost wish I had become a merchant marine when I was young...there's something about the open sea that calls....

You think SW FL is nice in the winter for boating...the summer is even more awesome. We just love it down there exploring the coast from Tampa to KW. There is so much to do there...Now that the retirement home is paid for, just need to fund the retirement boat....oh and get 3 kids through college first. Minor setback....

John do you own a sailboat too? I have a 23' O'day Tempest, circa 1969. A great little daysailer designed by Philip Rhodes. I also have subscriptions to Cruising World and Good Old Boat. I enjoy reading about people who sail full time, even if I don't.

But come summer I only have 2 days a week to boat, so I need something a bit quicker to get me to my destination...

Love to sail, but no sailboat......the kids would commit me to a loooooney bin.........Cruising World is the best magazine out there to me.....They have some great videos on their web site.......

Hey Wet Paint, your boat looks great at the marina next to ours. We are the aft cabin waiting for her new name & canvas in front of you.

eqquus....I think you are outside next to traders.....My friends boat is there....Same boat....... 012.jpg

That's correct wet paint. I am new to CSR and am really enjoying the website. We are anxious to splash our new yacht and start the season. Maybe we'll see you there.
