guys....one quick question.

How hot is too hot to take the boat out? I have a vacation day to take at work, and I took tomorrow off work to take the boat out.

The only problem is that it is supposed to be 95 degress with 30 mph wouth winds. I dont mind the winds because I can stay close to south shore. In the middle of the lake can be awfully brutal on my 18 footer. Anybody that has been to Okoboji knows how rough this lake is. It has 2-3 foot chop on a calm day (absolutey no winds). 10-15 mph winds causes horrible white caps.

We like to swim off the back end of the boat, so we just anchor some where out of the wind in calm water.

I think 95 is fine, just put on alot of sun screen.

now if the water temp or the beer temp got to that .. maybe..

with the breeze and a little dip in the water it sounds like a typical summer day here. :smt001

ambient air temp? Never too hot!!!

I spent an entire day at the pool in Baghdad a few years ago; peaked around 130 degrees. Water temp was around... I'd say 90. Sounds like bath water... but it felt like ice water at first. Then you get out and the water evaporates off your body so fast that it feels like it's about 40 degrees out for about a minute (takes your body heat with it).

It was great aside from the resulting near full body peeling that happened almost three weeks later (how weird is that... I burnt, went tan two days later, then in almost three weeks started to peel!!)

Anyhow, best times to be around water is when it's really hot!

That sounds like every day here Nate. If the fish are boiling, then maybe you have an issue, until then its GAME ON!! :smt038:smt038
