How do you winterize the icemaker

Does anyone know how to winterize icemakers?

I'm sure there's a more "official" way to do it, but I just add some pink stuff to the fresh water tank as part of winterizing the overall water system, and then I just run the icemaker while I'm doing other things... like winterizing the engines... until I get pink ice (which is actually mush and not ice). Works every time.
