I have a constant beeping alarm that i can't diagnose. the same pattern as when you turn the key and don't start the engine (after the test beeps) Its not the low gear lube alarm as i have unplugged the wires and the alarm still sounds. not sure where the oil sensor is for the alarm but i found the sending unit for the gauge on the opposite side of the engine from the starter location. i don't know where or how to check for the oil alarm sensor. oh all gauges check fine and the engine runs great. its a 2000 5.0 efi. thanks for any help.

Unplugging the low gear lube will not eliminate it, I believe you would have to short the wires going back to the ECM.

I will give that a try. I assumed that if it was low it would complete the ground. Thanks!

That is correct.

Your alarm, with your boat and your engine, will only sound for low drive fluid, low oil psi or high engine temp. The psi and temp part have both a sender (controls the dash gauge) and a sensor (controls the alarm). The temp parts are both on the front of the engine, easy to see. Concerning the PSI sensor/sender... honestly, I always have to look it myself to see which is which as I can never seem to remember. But one is right near the remote oil filter adapter, which is what I believe is the one you already found. The other is on top, back by the distributor.

Yep I found it by the distributor. Hard to see back there. Thanks. I thought I read somewhere that my engine has several alalrm codes as it has a fuel pressure sensor on the throttle body and iac sensor for helping with idle or something to that effect. I may be wrong but I think I will replace the oil sensor to see if that cures the alarm. Seems to be a common issue. But I wish I could test it somehownto see.
