How cold should our A.C. be able go?

I don't know anything about design limits but my boat will easily maintain 70 deg inside on a 95 deg humid day in full sunshine. Water temp is now in low-mid 80s and cabin door are frequently open.

I like my boat cool, dry and comfortable and my AC delivers so I guess Searay installed the right units.

Mine too with no problems.

Ka1oxd - that's the premise of AC, it's called evaporative cooling. The dry air makes it feel that much colder.

I have an Issue with the inside cabin temp being about six degrees colder than the thermostast says it is !

Me too, the thermostat says its 79 in the boat and I brought another thermometer and it says 72, 70 degrees in the mid berth that close to the AC unit (thats in 85* water and 95 degree outside temps). If I take the screen off the wall and the black mesh 'filter' on the coils it seems to be more accurate. The little temp sender riveted to the drain pan is where I assume the temp reading comes from, I was going to try to move it where it located more in the airstream. I thought mine wasnt working well either by looking at the thermostat temp display.

edit: FWIW I looked through the SMX manual and found the 'temp calibration' in the programming menu. Just changed it to read the same as the thermometer next to the AC temp sensor, looks like its right on the money now.
