Good pt. Also depends what type of docks are local to you... If you have individual slips with fingers between other boats, that's a lot different than boats bang up against each other between fingers or pilings.

Again, depends on skill set of the skipper. With set lines on the boat and a dock hand from the marina standing by at the slip, the nature of the slip, piling, wind, etc. really don't affect the outcome if you know how to set your lines and control the boat. I put the boat where a dock hand can pick up the spring line and another line needed to make very controlled landings. Probably have around 8,000 plus hours running boats so one would hope the outcome is no surprise.Good pt. Also depends what type of docks are local to you...
