How about a non-political question?

I had a Dodge Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. I liked the truck but hated the engine. The only thing it was good at was sucking gas. I bought an f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost and was blown away by that engine. I’m on my third f150 ecoboost and I’m still impressed by that engine. 400hp, 500lb-ft torque, 14,000lb towing capacity!!!’
Pretty sure he is talking about a 5.7 LS GM engine not a Chrysler. The "hemi" would be a 426.....or bigger. ;)

2014 F150 Ecoboost FX4 Supercrew here with 88,000 miles - replaced battery, tires, and had the brakes/rotors replaced. It doesn't have any engine shutdown feature and my average MPG is 18. Best truck I've ever owned....
Oh yea - I replaced the turn signal multi-function arm about a year ago; the windshield wipers would come on all by themselves.

I'll be due for a new truck this next year - do the new F150's have that auto-shutdown feature???
My 2018 F-150 has the auto-shutdown feature.

Don't know what they're using now, but Chrysler's re-introduction of the hemi in the early 2000's was a 5.7L engine.
"Hemi's" - Dodge RAM is still the 5.7L (348 CI) but for other vehicles 6.2 and 6.4 L. 378CI and 390CI
My 2019 Dodge Challenger is the 6.2L - it doesn't have the shutdown feature.
426CI is 7L which ended production in 1971.

In 2022 the 3.6L is standard for all 1/2 ton rigs and the 5.7 is optional. The only outlier is the TRX which has the 6.2 supercharged.

2023 will be the last year of the "hemi" - again.

Bigger is better. :)

But yeah it sucks. All these automakers going woke with their EV bs. Follow the science. We going to be in a world of hurt the next decade.

Yes there's no replacement for displacement - Except - My 378 CI (6.2L) Challenger is 797 Horsepower. My 1970 426 Hemi Cuda couldn't come close at around 500 horsepower. Power delivery and handling are light years apart. Technology.... Heck I think my 213 CI (3.5L) F150 six-cylinder Ecoboost is over 350 HP.

I remember when 1HP/CI from the manufacturers was landmark.

This is a "real" hemi

Not quite - that is an Indy RB (440 Chrysler) block with their Hemi heads - a purist Mopar comment....
This is a bonefied Chrysler based 8.7L Hemi I had Roush Engineering build for one of my projects -
Some significant differences - Hemi has cross bolted main bearings, 8-bolt crankshaft flange, top head bolts attached from inside of lifter valley, larger bore oil galleys, no engine mount boss'. It does have Chevy in it - Shhhh - we went with BBC connecting rod journal sizes based upon what Oliver spec'd their rods for.

But going back to the intent - this won't shut down at the stop lights.

And I thought my two Cat 3116s were bad assed...

True.... But the Indy block has Chrysler origins. Nelson will sell you the one pictured with blower for $49,995. My biggest engine 565 Dart in this toy. No stop/start either. ;)

Does it stop at all? :D:p
It actually stopped decent with discs all around and it only weighed 3300 lbs (tube chassis, aluminum floor). The problem was getting it to turn. 3+ feet of rubber in the back. Spooled rear axle (think solid locked). It only wanted to go straight. Going around corners it would want to push the car straight and the front tires would "lay rubber" from skidding trying to get traction to turn. An extreme push. Anyway, it's long gone. I had a 15 gallon fuel cell in the car and it would maybe get 5 or 6 miles to the gallon. I was always planning gas stops when I got it out.

Illinois... brought down the Governor who was Sec of State at the time and his office allowed the truck driver to get his license?

That’s the one. The actual accident happened in Wisconsin, but the trailer had originated at one of the rail terminals in Chicago. You would think that aspect would have been the big headline of the case, but it was just a sideshow to the circumstances of the case.
