Hours turned back on smart craft gauges?

I was in the process of buying a 2006 sea ray 380 sundancer from a reputable dealer. Boat is listed currently with 165 hours...........Long story short I was watching some 380 sundancer videos on youtube and came across THE SAME EXACT BOAT in a video from 5 years ago for sale advertised with 238 hours!!!!! HOW can this be possible? Is there a way to turn back hours on the smart craft gauges?

I thought smartcraft gets the hours from the engine computer, so the answer should be no unless computers were replaced.
Ill be watching this post.

Don't know about turning them back, but they are 'plug-n-play' so replacing them is very simple...as stated above, hours can be retrieved from the engine as well.

Well here's the proof ... see for your self . The YouTube video FROM 2012 and current listing on yacht world . ITS THE SAME BOAT !!!!!!Even though transom door is Open u can see the M on the back from the name Manigo..... and the very distinct Charleston SC
