Looking for a little assistance on the hot water heater winterization on our new 40 Dancer. I wanted to bypass the heater and drain it (then compressed air through all lines) like i've done on all out other boats but it seems almost impossible on this boat. Plan B of course is to put the pink in the water tank and let the heater and lines fill-up via the water pump. Is there no way to by pass and use my air compressor to blow out the lines?

The water distribution manifold (and hot water heater) are under the back bench in the midships cabin area. You can use any of the valves or disconnect any or all of the water lines and use that as your bypass.

Good luck.

Nice post. I like it. Thanks for sharing these information. Keep it up. :)

Update.
Took longer to take the seat off (three screws at rear of seat) than to do the bypass. Once the seat is off and to the side, take the water inlet hose (blue) off the water tank and screw it into the manifold where the the feed goes to the water heater. IOW, the bypass is simply done right on the manifold.

Three interesting items to note.
1) several of the hoses to the manifold were leaking. Connectors at the end of the hoses seemed like they weren't tight along the gaskets
2) water from hot water heater discharges into a enclosed space around the heater. I had about two inches of water in the enclosure (which was fiberglass)! Not a good design in my opinion. Draining the hot water heater into a space around the water heater? It's like putting the water heater into a bucket. dumb design.
3)some of the stickers on the manifold were placed in the wrong spot. The actual water inlet was labeled as the galley sink.
