Hot water heater leaking

Hey. I have a 2007 sun dancer 260 with a hot water heater. The heater is leaking from the round thing that the got lead and ground wire connect to. The round housing has two probes that go into the heater about a foot. I'm assuming this is the heating element when the motor is off. I don't know. Attached is a pic. I think this is supposed to get some jb weld on the face of the circle thing then pushed in and sealed. Maybe silicon?

Sounds like the heating element.
It seals with a large round rubber gasket.
I just replaced mine with a new element and gasket for 22.00.
Ordered it from a RV parts site.
I would just replace element and gasket cheap and easy to do.
Im guessing its an Attwood.

There are no screws or anything holding it in. A gasket would not work. I need to get a picture up.

Ok lets see if this works. These are the pics.

looks like the hold down for the element rotted off.
Those 4 bolts hold it in.
You need a new element and gasket.

You sir are the winner!! Thanks so much! New one on the way. I figured it was removable with those 4 bolts but didnt want to start disassembling before i knew. thanks again!

I have the same boat and my hot water heater started leaking after spring commissioning. I have been in salt water for 6 years now. Was yours leaking?
