I have a 34 ' sundancer (2000) My horn is not working very well . Can anyone tell me where the horn is located on this boat so I can check it?
Thanks

raymondcmartin, if you figure out the problem, post it. I'm having the same problem. For some reason mine started sounding like a sick cow. Unfortunately, I don't use it very often and discovered it during a Coast Guard safety check.

This might work for ya.??.

I sprayed WD40 in mine to get the sound back to normal. :smt001.

Where did you spray it? I see your horns in your pic, mine is not the same - it's behind a grill plate up by the reg# on the starboard side.

By the way I told my girlfriend about your comment - "the only high maintenance accessory on my boat is in a bikini". She said, "it's as it should be".

The horns are made by Aqua Signal. The SS cover is just that, a cover, the horn itself is plastic The only difference between the generic unit and a SeaRay part numbered unit is that the SR part comes with solderless connections and costs a couple times more than the generic.

I sprayed it in the trumpets. :smt001

Take your cover off and give it a try. You have nothing to lose by trying it.

I dont think they sound loud enough even when new. That is why I am replacing mine with a twin horn Ongaro in white powdercoated stainless steel. I just cannot decide where to mount it yet so its not in the way. It may end up on the arch.

The Sea Ray horns are crap! When we had 320 we mounted twin trumpets on the anchor hatch cover and the compressor mounted to back side, tapping into power for windlass, On our 390 we went a little bigger and put twin Low Tone horns on the hard top w/compressor mounted behind cubby next to helm. My kid’s love the little courtesy toot (Causing a simultaneous jump from the onlookers) the prior to pulling out of slip at restaurant.

thanks I'll have a look. I'm guessing there is a plate on the utside of the boat coverng it.

Looks good. We always think the Sea Ray horn sounds like a dying duck.

I am always timid about drilling into the boat anywhere, but this is a good idea. Thanks.
