Cleaning the boat today and found these holes on the chine. Hasn’t been in the water this season. I had a fiberglass repairman look at it and he said it was cavities from the building process and that it was easy to fix. I wonder whether it is forklift damage (boat is in dry stack). What do you think?

The holes are obvious voids beneath the gelcoat due to air trapped between the gelcoat and the glass mat beneath. The fork lift may have punctured the void but they wouldn't be there in the first place it the laminator had forced the air out of the layup.

This should be a simple and easy repair....probably $150 to $200 here on the Gulf Coast.

Those are air voids. While something contacting that area could have opened them up, it is not 'damage'. It's an area where the gelcoat/glass does not directly touch because the glass wasn't pushed into the inside corner well enough to get rid of any air (void). It's not 'common'... but it's not 'rare', either. You may be able to get this covered under warranty - contact your dealer.
