Holes in bilge floor?

If you are confident that the water is not coming out of those holes then seal them to prevent it. If those screws were not sealed when they were installed in 2005 water WILL get by them.
My .02 cents.

I think they were sealed. Then, when the shop replaced the float they needed to remove the bracket so it would fit, and didn't reseal them...allowing water down in there. Plausible?

i will certainly check the depth finder for leaks, but the inlets for ac and gen are above that lower channel in the bilge and i didn't see anything from there. like i said, i did find a few nuisance drips from the gen strainer and fresh water pump

Those things could be causing a leak BETWEEN the hull and inner liner... meaning you won't see it until it comes out of those screw holes.

just an update...

tech who initially did the work admitted to having a bad day. he simply forgot to seal the holes - and wrapped teflon tape the wrong way around the threads on the fresh water pump. he spent over an hour cleaning my bilge and drying it up, making sure all the water in the void was gone, too. he also fixed the site glass on my generator strainer (which was cracked and leaking). finally, he stuck the boat in the water for a while and noticed two smaller leaks - around the transducer and around the drain plug at the back of the boat. those are now sealed up well and the bilge is dry. hopefully it will remain that way for a while.
