My holding tank guage only shows empty when we have a fresh pump out after we use it a few times empty light goes out and nothing else happens.:smt100 Anybody got the cure I need to fix?

had the same problem on our 2005 420DB. The guage only reads empty, 1/2 and full do not flush. It worked for several years and then the 1/2 LED went out, looked at fixing it but it is all on a circuit board. I resorted to just trying to keep track in my head, no pun intended of how full we were. It was pretty easy since we travelled alot I would just pump out every other fuel stop. If you dont run alot it may be a problem to keep track of.

Could be paper and debris on the float switch. It is easy to correct but it is a MESSY job. If you search this site for vacuflush problems you should find it. There are extensive threads on this.

The sensors are probably dirty. I believe if you look in the owners manual you will find a recommended cleaning procedure invloving Tide Detergent. My Dometic manual has a section on this.

Worst case you may have to remove the sensor module and clean or replace it. That will not be a fun task.

Good Luck.

I believe on your setup when empty light goes out, after few more flushes 1/2 light comes on and etc, but for a while there is nothing on gauge. some indicators show "power" all the time when system is turned on.

goggle "tank tender" and install one. It's the sure fix.

Probably paper and debris on the float switch cleaned them on my tank last week not that bad .
Pumped out Then filled tank with water and bleach pumped that out then filled to 3/4.
Then removed them they screw in the top of the tank and kind of look like a garden hose female end made to remove by hand .
Loosened them and moved them up and down in the water till they were clean work fine now .

I find this amazing. The length people will go through to fix these stupid things until the next pump out. Water tank, same thing. Even diesel fuel tank indicators. One Tank Tender monitors multiple tanks with no moving parts and it pays for itself by avoiding unneeded pump outs which cost 10 bucks here. The monitor is very precise and works every time.

sbw1 is a 1997 model boat and worked fine till 3 are 4 months ago and only took about a hour to fix ma be it will work for another 14 years and pump out are free here just like to know whats in it .
