by now you may have an idea what the topic is all about, the holding tank for the head on my 1988 sundancer 340 ruptured so im trying to replace it but cant seem to find one, if anyone could help me out i would be very greatful. THANKS.

Unfortunately, I can completely relate. Had to do the same thing a few years back. It's very unlikely you'll find a used one since no one usually replaces a holding tank unless there is something wrong with it.

You might get lucky and find one through a place like Flounder Pounder Marine. If not, a Dometic/SeaLand (likely manufacturer of your system) dealer like Northeast Sanitation can help you with a new one. If you haven't done it recently, now is the time to replace your duckbill valves, as well. Bernie (or his daughter) at Northeast - 631-752-7606 - can help you - they are very good company - they really know their... ummm... :smt001

Replacing the vacuum switch is also a good idea.

You also might consider (I'm making an assumption here) replacing the standalone vacuum generator and separate tank for a tank that has the vacuum generator built in to save some bilge space. But then, it's easy for me to spend your money!

I had Ronco provide me with replacement water tanks (2 connected together so I could get them below) on my 88 dancer. They gave me the size I wanted and heat welded the fittings in per my specs. While I was at it I had them build me an aux. 30 gallon tank for under the aft dinette seat. The price was right. I do not know about shipping. There is room for a larger holding tank but I do not know about getting it in. Check either thru the engine room or thru the aft berth access.

What was the failure point on yours ?
