I have a T12 Discharge and Macerator Pump and I question the Mac part. which is causing me some problems. I am lifed out for the season and have now discovered that my holding tank has not been empted as I thought it was:smt089. Indicators not working. T12 also seems not to be Pumping???? I replaced the duck bill valves on the pump a couple of months ago. Help>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:smt100

These pumps are pretty simple. There is a single duckbill valve on each side of the bellows (the thing that the motor moves up and down). If it's not moving fluid, it's either something wrong with the pump or a blockage.

You said you replaced the duckbill valves on this pump... If you have had an aggressive pump out and left the discharge open, it's possible to invert the duckbill valves. You may want to pull them off and check again. If they are fine, you may want to try and replace the bellows....

This is a stnky job and I'm not so sure I just wouldn't spend the 200 bucks for a new one and then rebuild the old one as a spare. My 2 cents.

The other possibility is that you have a blockage somewhere. Is your tank full of sludge or have something at the bottom blocking the pickup tube? Things like tampons, paper towels, small animals, cigarettes, wash clothes, rags, ping pong balls, condoms, newspapers, engine bolts, wood chips, etc. that get flushed down can end up blocking the pickup tube in your tank. If you can, you may want to look in the access hole on the top and see what is going on around the pick up tube.

I see people talk about getting blockages out of their system by using a plunger but if it's something that will just end up blocking the pickup tube in the tank, that does not solve the problem and only moves the problem down stream into a less desirable location to remove it... The pick up tube is only about an inch off the bottom of the tank so is easy to block.

My 2 cents... for the Monday morning poop talk.

Were you sitting on the crapper when you typed that?

If you are not near...or have any other means, I must admit buying a wet vac @ Lowes and using it to pump my tank when I had no other option. Of course you have to be prepared to dump it down the sewer as well as tossing the vac out afterwards. I think the vac was like 35 or 40 bucks.
Either way it's a bad job.
