anybody staying there this year? wife and I just got off the waiting list and scooped up the very last slip that came available. we will be on G dock right behind Hingham Beer Works. lets just say i'll be downing some "Minot light's" this summer.

That's a great spot. Enjoy this summer.

Was on G dock until 6 years ago with my then 32 ft express. Left due to high slip fees. Joined a nice yacht club and now save 4k per year with my 39ft express. HS is now back in demand due to a better economy and all the condos built on the property. I love Hingham Beer Works.

hottoddie, where did you join? i called everywhere that was conceivable for us to drive to and everywhere was within a few hundred dollars of each other. couldn't believe Tern Harbor was the same price as hingham with no stores, shops, restaurants or even a nice place for the dog to take a dump on leash. and it would take an extra 10 minutes to get there around wessagusset (probably spelled that wrong) if there was a crowd at the beach.
my family has been members of town river in Quincy forever and my grandfather was the Commodore years ago but it's a little far from us as we live in Abington.

Boater_Rob, stop on by. we are going to be G 7. you wont miss us as we will be the boat with the 6month old screaming baby and 2 barking dogs :) Hingham isn't going to know what hit them. I was looking at the map layout and was hoping for G-11 you lucky dog

Sounds great - we'll have two screaming kids but only one barking dog :smt119

Looking forward to to the proximity to Beer Works - love it there! Think spring...

actually we left marina bay last year after realizing that you have to be wasted to sleep with all the commercial airline traffic flying over right after the pounding bass from the clubs stops at 2am. wasn't exactly conducive to a good relationship with an extremely pregnant wife that was dying for a good night sleep. couldn't see raising a child there in the summer with all the "jersey shore" wannabe's running around flexing after 4pm and trying to teach my new daughter that she doesn't have to have her ass hanging out of her clothes when there are half naked sluts on the docks stumbling around screaming trying to sneak onto someone's boat. i'm not bashing the marina, everyone there was great, it was the clientele that was attracted trying to show off spending money at the bars. I couldn't tell you how many times just sitting down having a beer or grabbing an appetizer at the waterclub before it got busy i heard "yeah, my buddy has a boat right over there, i was considering leaving mine here but i'm having the interior redone right now" these people wouldn't know how to tie shoelaces never mind operate a boat.
during the day, marina bay was great. at night it jsut wasn't family atmosphere. I'll go there with my friends no problem, I just don't want to stay there when my daughter is around.

well then you would have loved to have been where i was. had 4 drunk girls (smoking hot) creep onto my boat looking for beer one night around 1:30am someone either let them in or didn't watch as the door shut and they sneaked passed them down the ramp. woke up to high heels on the swim platform and the transom door opening. they were surprised to see the end of a stainless 1911 coming out of the cabin door.

If i wasn't married....

Hey we are at HSM too F42.. Two kids and a dog. HSM is a great location for a marina and the live music and movies are good too. Welcome!

dcummins,
i just found out the other day about the dog park stodders neck right next door, i was thinking about taking the brats over by dinghy but wasn't sure if that was cool to do or frowned uppon by anyone over there. i think it would be easier than trying to walk 2 dogs on leash up to the grass area in behind beer works plus i have seen a bunch of kids playing in that grass and although i'm not responsible for where people let their children play...i don't want to make it a regular habit of my dogs pooping in front of people eating. wondering what you used as your policy for dog bathroom routine. one of my dogs is high energy and needs an outlet daily or she can get tough to deal with in cramped quarters like a car/truck or boat. I used to have a 170 BR and my dog has jumped out after a bird while at WOT.

Cool - that's three of us at HSM so far... We're looking forward to meeting other boating families! We need to figure out the dog thing too - we have an 18 month old black lab.

I'm calling first drinks on Boater_Rob's new boat...good luck in your search, wife and I looked for 2 years until we fell in love with the layout on the older 290. I would love to keep our deck layout but on a 340 with the 340's cabin. having the port lounger works perfectly for my wife, we didn't like the double helm seating on some of the newer/bigger boats.

I am buying an older 9' Achilles from a friend of mine once he feels like going to get it from his beach house in Plymouth, if we can beach up to the dog park it will be easy, toss in dogs, it should be about 1-2 minutes to the dog park by water, let them run and play and crap all they want over there then just take them back tired and rinse them off on the swim platform or on the finger of the dock.
I know none of the Boston Harbor Islands allow dogs but it looks like slate island and sheep island are not exactly
"hot spots" for beach goers so i'm willing to bet we can bring the girls there for day beach trips without worry. maybe we can make group trips over by dinghys with all of our dogs and some beers every morning and night

Sounds like a plan! I'm planning to look at inflatables at the boat show next week - achilles lex88 and lex96 seem like a good bang for the buck. Even better would be to find a nice one on CL!
