Just wodnering if anyone could suggest a lock tight type and a place to get it. I am putting my bell housing back to gether and needed to put some lock tight on the hing pin's, any ideas?

Also, i need to know what kind of lubricant to put on the shift slider, can anyone help out there too?

Any hardware or auto parts store will have lock-tite and I think there are only 2 colors red and blue. Use the one that is easier to get off (read the labels I think it is blue?). Don't know about the shift. In your manuel?

I've used the heavy duty lock-tite on a bolt that holds the hatch open on my hard top. It has lasted 3 years. Very tough stuff. Available at my Ace Hardware store.

From the service manaul. Apply Locquic Primer “T” to internal bell housing threads and external hinge pin threads
and allow to dry. Apply Loctite 271 to bell housing threads and install hinge pins. Torque
hinge pins to 100 lb-ft (136 Nm).

271 is red loctite. http://www.google.com/products?sour...esult_group&ct=image&resnum=3&ved=0CCoQzAMwAg

You will want to use special lube 101at the shift slide, The part in your other photo with the safty wire. See number 8 in this link.http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...se.png&inbr=100000&bnbr=1&bdesc=GREASE+&+LUBE
