Just saying hi. Joined today to find the perfect boat. Have been looking for a family cruiser for some time now and narrowed it down to Sea Ray. I need a boat big enough for our family of 4 (me, wife, boys 5 & 10) to cruise the Chesapeake.

Welcome!

Sea Ray just introduced a new model this year that looks to be plenty big for 4 people.

Best regards,
Frank C

With a growing family, along with the term cruiser, you might look at 32 ft. Of Course, the year makes a difference and unlike used cars [or like?] as i am sure you know, every boat is different depending on its previous owner and year. Small aft cabins are for sleeping, but then, where do the 'toys' go? Storage space is important! Also, no chef wants to cook in the bedroom. So, size [of the boat] does matter. LOL. You've got many memories to be made, all happy ones I'm sure, especially if you choose a SeaRay--new or Used!
Keep us all posted.

The first mate,
alison

I personally love the 400DB with her room and ample lounging space to be had. When you (whomever) is in the gallery it does not feel cramped rather that you are still in the mix of the happenings.

You are able to lie on the couches as well as spread out on the salon floor to watch a movie with the kids as well as room to wrestle.

Up on the bridge is my isolation area that quickly becomes an entertaining are and a perch for the kids to shoot each other with water guns as well as to spy on friends that are rafted up to us in their DA’s.

If you opt for any used boat with kids, I would look for one that had a hydrolic lift for daddies other toy - PWC / Seadoo....

Best of luck in your search and remember looking for the boat is half of the fun.

So how ya doin?
What part of Philly?
Im living in Mayfair.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I think I narrowed it down to a used 340 sundancer from the early '00. In this market I might snap up a good deal. We are close to Valley Forge, but plan on staying at the Skipjack Cove marina at the Sassafras River once we get a boat. Will keep you posted.

Update to my boat search. Today the seller accepted my offer on a 320 2006 Sea Ray Sundancer. Monday is the survey and I might have it in the water by next weekend.

Great to hear. Need some pics.... HA coming from me who never posted pics!!! It is a great boat. I think you said you were going to keep her on the Chesapeake, have you narrowed down where.

Most of all have fun and don't get stressed out. It can be a super stressful time and it should be a lot of fun.

Hope to see you out on the Bay later in the summer!!

Good luck with that 320 - it's a very nice boat! I hope it works out for you.

The Sassafras is a nice area. It's bit of a run every time you want to go South, but it's nice that you always end up coming back through fresh water. Skipjack is nice, too.

Andreas,

Good luck with the new Dancer. We live just west of Valley Forge in the Collegeville area and have been boating on the upper Chesapeake for several years. You will love the area - plenty of places to enjoy with the family. Please let me know if I can help in any way with the new boat.

Welcome and good luck,

I got a slip at Skipjack for the first year to see how I like it. They have the nicest amenities (Restaurant, facilities, pool, playground) which are all + for the rest of the crew (wife and my two boys 5&9). Not a floating dock, but that should be OK.
