HGE manifolds & risers

Hey -

I did on my 7.4. I chased antifreeze leaks on both manifolds between the manifold and the spacer. Got the starboard fixed and finally had to send the port back. The stud holes were not drilled exactly perpendicular to the mating surface.

I did a prefit and they all line up. The only issue is the plug on the spacer. They threads were tapped crooked but it will be fine. Thanks

If they screwed up one thing. They may have screwed up something else. Considering replacing a 7.4 costs several grand, better not to skimp by buying third party parts.

3 year warranty. I'll take my chances as they were bought from a HUGE company that swears by them. (perfprotech.com)

Does the 3 year warranty cover incidental or consequential damage or just replacement of the manifolds? If they're so good, I'm sure they'll warranty the engines against water ingestion damages caused by failed manifolds. If the manifolds leak into the into the exhaust passages because they don't seal correctly after a year, do they hand you new engines or just new manifolds saying "here's some new manifolds for the engines you're going to buy."

Best regards,
Frank

When I asked that queation I was told that the engine would be covered if caused from a faulty, leaking manifold.

SAshton you may want to check your information.

"Manufacturer’s obligation does not include any costs of removal, damage to the engine or reinstallation.."

I agree with FC3. I would not look at riser/manifold replacement as an opportunity to save money. Go with OEM and be sure... Good Luck!

My manifolds/risers are by PPT? They get them from HGE but the stamp there PPT on them and they ceramic coat & EDP plate them and there warranty says that they will replace resulting damage.(no I don't have this in writing but they have been using them for years w/no problems so I will take my chances.) www.perfprotech.com

Do OEM's cover engine damage???? I have heard MANY stories of OEM manifolds leaking also. THEY ALL have some issues and thats just the way it is. You can only hope that you get a good set no matter who you deal with...
