help with my lofrans progress 1 windlass

I have a lofrans progess 1 windlass and stripped out the retaining nut pn 508. the problem is that part is no longer available from the lofrans. I called every distributer and no luck. any ideas

Believe you have to work that through Imtra. If you dont see the part, call their customer service. Very helpful.

I think I paid $30-40 for a spring. Cheaper than a new windlass...

Can you post a pic of the retaining nut? I did some work on mine a couple of years ago without ordering any parts from Imtra or Lofrans. I had 4 new springs made up at a local spring manufacturer and it works great.

I just bought a spring from them. It was $30 and weighed 5 gms. That's a per pound cost of $2727 per pound. I am pretty sure that by the pound that is the most expensive part on the boat, that is until you purchase the 1 gm nut for $30! haha.

i tried imtra and the part is no longer available...i have a feeling I may have to get a new one machined. but i dont know the thread size yet.
