help with kohler 5k genny

I have a 2004 340 sundancer with a kolher 5k genny. I believe the impeller shaft is sheared on the genny. the shaft does not spin while the genny is running however it can spin freely by hand. can anyone tell me if there is a shear pin installed and where to find it

Yes, there is a plastic coupling that joins the main shaft to the pump shaft. Remove the plate at the back and you will see it.

Just had that problem as well. Here is what you will find. Remove the two screws on the round plate and then remove it. The part is $6 and an easy fix.

is it located behind the impeller pump housing?
