Help with Engine Serial Number 350 MAG MPI Horizon

I'm having trouble finding info based on my engine serial number, its a

350 MAG MPI Horizon (V-Drive inboard) on a 290 Amberjack

The serial number is OM396504.

On more than one website I'm finding it listed as a 6.2L, but I'm pretty sure it's 5.7. Am I looking this up correctly?

According to Merc's records, that serial number is assigned to a 350MAG, originally registered to a gentleman in Mass.

I guess I should've made this thread more specific, I'm trying to nail down the part number for serpentine belts. I was using the serial number to try to nail down the exact engine model.

The info I have available is only available to dealers. The serp belt "might" be the same for both engines - not sure. There's a part number on your belt - take that to NAPA and they'll cross it if it's currently labelled Mercruiser to something like a Gates.

I am trying to find some info on a 350 V8 Magnum Mercruiser engine. eg build date etc. I have the serial number. can anyone help please
