I have a 197 Monaco and want to put a Bimini top on it. The mount for a previous top was about halfway down on the window frame.

How long? I just want to cover the captains seats not shade the sun pad. Options are 4,6,8 feet.

How tall? I am over 6 feet and do not want to crawl around, however I do not want it to tower way over the little sleek vessel. Options are 36,42,54 inches.

My quessing has me with a 4 foot 42 inch high.

Thanks,

MM

if you are being serious ...................... and you would like to use the mount for the previous top then measure the distance between the height of the previous mount and the floor then add enough length to cover your height + 1 foot and get the 4 foot long top (although I would go with the 6 foot long top)

Mike, I guess the height depends in part on how you want it to look. I put a 54" tall bimini on my 13' Whaler because I didn't want to have to crouch when under it. I can't stand up beneath it, but I don't have to crawl around on my hands and knees either.

I also went with a 6' top because I wanted it to cover much of the passenger area. If the sun were always directly overhead I could have gone with a 4' top. Since it's not, and we're usually out fairly early in the morning or late afternoon, I'm glad I went with the 6' top.
