I have a 2000 Weekender 245 just purchased from a private seller. It has a Clarion M275 amp/radio/cdplayer (working) installed which my research shows does not come with a wired remote. I have the M275 Manual and have checked several on-line sources. I have a wired remote control in the dash but it will not work (of course not). It looks like the original and first owner may have replaced the factory installed unit with the M275. For information derived from SR club and elsewhere it is possible that the M475 will mount but there is no available info on whether the factory installed wired remote will work correctly with the M475.

(1) Call anyone tell me the original Clarion model number? The Sea Ray parts manual is not helpful as it does not relate to a Clarion model number. Can't get SR tech support to answer question. Can't get to Clarion support after holding for 1 hour two times, so I though I'd go to the club for an answer. (2) can anyone tell me whether the factory installed wired remote will work with the M475?

Any thoughts would be helpful. Yes i Have checked and the M275 does come with a wireless remote and will try that approach subject to any help received here.

Thanks and be safe

If you do a google search on "clarion marine receiver remote compatibility chart" you'll find an excel spreadsheet from Clarion that lists what remote works with what receiver. I'd start there to make sure your remote is intended to work with your receiver. If the receiver was replaced (upgraded), the remote may no longer be compatible. Not sure what your boat would have come with, but for reference, my 2007 model searay came with a m455(upgrade from m255) and the clarion m275/m475 came out after that, so I'm pretty sure it's been replaced.

If you are seeking out an M475, I think they have been retired for about 6 years now. I would look toward a current model and remote such as the M303 or M505 and MW series remotes.

I have the M505, using the older remotes with the adapter I posted and works perfectly.
