Hi everyone. You've been such great sources of info in the past, I hope you can help with this one.

A gentleman in Sweden wants to purchase my boat and we need help getting it from here in Iowa (near Albia) to the ports of NY/NJ. The boat is a 250 Sundancer.

Any leads on reliable boat transport outfits is greatly appreciated.

Have you posted your requirements on uship.com yet? Simply upload your itinerary and different companies will compete for your business. We've used them in the past without incident. ~ Stephanie, BOE Marine

Svennsoon Boat Transport 1 800 924 5036 or 1 631 543 2700
Unsure of what they are charging these days with the price of gas and all but they do local and interstate transport and are licenced and insured.

I have been very happy with their service

uship.com was the best thing in getting my boat from Baltimore down to the Atlanta area. Great site!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for the ideas on shipping. I have done UShip and called Svennsson.

I also appreciate the concerns that the deal is a legit deal. I am convinced that it is. The potential buyer in Sweden is a very nice gentleman and he's going to get a great boat if we can line up reasonable shipping!

Eric - Are you transporting the boat and a trailer?
How much of the logistics are you responsible for?

This nice guy from Sweden isn't buying this for some billionare watch maker that doesn't have time to do it himself is it? After experiencing identity theft.....DON'T TRUST ANYONE...until there is money wired to your bank!

Best of luck to you!

Don't give him your account info either. Work through your bank to insure proper funds are available and complete concrete.

The Big scam is hey I really like your boat. I'm wiring you $10000 over the value of your boat. Once you receive funds please pay my shipper the $7000 and keep $3000 for the hassle.

I hope it's legit and that soon we hear how you've ordered your new 340DA (or whatever) and not posting that you have to change your Screenname to Anderson1/2Acre, because you lost your a*s

Guys, I really appreciate all the concern you're expressing. It is well intended, and good. I think the Swedish gentleman and I have things under control, though. Did I tell you that he found me through the ad on CSR? It's the only adverting I've done. Very effective, and I recommend it.
