Help Make Front Center Bunks

I was quoted by a local trailer dealer 200 bucks per side for the "baby bunks" or "front center bunks" as seen in the picture below. Thats 400 bucks for bunks, I don't think so!

Where can I get the hardware to make this style of bunks as shown? I want the square type of pipes seen here not the flat type sold here

If you can draw the brackets up with the proper measurements and angles I'd bet a welding shop could make all 4 of them for about $50. If you buy and cut the metal yourself, the welding only would cost less. I assume that the bunks themselves are just pressure treated lumber covered with bunk carpeting. You should be ale to do that pretty cheaply by yourself.

I just need the hardware, I'll get the wood, carpet it and install everything. I just want those dam brackets (or whatever their called) that hold the square pipe risers to the trailer frame. It would be nice to get the square pipe precut too but thats an easy find...

Anyone on here install front bunks aftermarket? Where did you get the parts and what parts did you use?

The Flat type of bolster riser on the link above seem flimsy. If it'll hold I may go that route. I was trying to keep the trailer all aluminum, those are galv.

Try Tie Down. Or, call that trailer manufacturer (or the dealer who sold that trailer) directly.

Mine are a slightly different set-up, but I think I paid between $200 and $300 for the whole set-up, including shipping - already made-up. Just had to bolt it on. This was from ShoreLand'r, so probably a little pricier than the more generic trailers.

If that's $400 installed, that's not too bad. Figure an hour or so of labor.

Found a place locally:

4 aluminum risers
Stainless nylon nuts
Stainless bolts
4 GALV steel brackets)
8 GALV Swivels
No bunks included

200 bucks. Not installed

Is this reasonable?

I think that sounds fine. If you want, I can check with my rep and Venture trailers and see what I can get them for you at. It'll take a few days, though.
