As stated Im having generator issues. 2004 Kohler 7.3E. Starts fine runs fine for 10 minutes or so then shuts off with alarm on. Has great water flow when running and is putting out plenty of juice. I definitely feel its a bad sensor that's shutting it down. I cant for the life of me find a temperature sensor on it, aside from the one on the exterior of the manifold. Im about to call in the pros but figured I'd come to the next best place first. Thanks, Tim

Do you have a readout? Any code displayed?

Plenty of oil, coolant and no pinched fuel line. The impeller was changed at the beginning of the season and its pumping plenty of water. That being said I may take another look in there. Jim, the link is for a 5E and although very similar mine doesn't have a sensor in that spot. There's a plug there and I would have thought that's were it should be. Im going to change the high temp sensor on the manifold first since it's easy then the thermostat. Thanks, guys!!

If you have a CO detector in your cabin it could be at it's end of life. Had this happen to me 2 years ago and it took me forever to get it figured out. Some of the CO detectors have a generator shut down feature. Just something to look at. Hope you get it repaired soon.

The 5E/4EF and the 7.3E/6EF are in the same manual... look at the cover page.
