So yesterday I was out on the water enjoying my afternoon and evening. I had already been running the boat for about almost two hours when cruising back to the marina the engine alarm went off and the boat shut down. The "Check Engine" and then "Electrical" displays appeared. I scrolled thru all the settings and everything said OK and the battery volts appeared to be okay. I restarted the engine and continued back to the marina. Again the alarm went off and then the engine started sputtering. Restarted the engine and everything appeared to be fine again. Started limping back to the marina again and the alarm goes off again this time without any engine issues...just the alarm. One of the readings when the alarm went off read "Over Speed." One thing I notice is if I keep the RPMs under 2500 no problems but when I got around 3000 and above the alarms would sound.

I know there's a lot of information here but I would greatly appreciate all the help and advise I can get. This is the first engine issue I've had since I purchased the boat. I also put two new batteries in at the beginning of the season. Thanks again in advance.

Oh if my signature doesn't say it, I have a 2007 220 Sundeck with the 5.0 Mercury engine Bravo III drives.
