Are you sure that HIN is correct? The M083 doesn't seem to fit with any of the HIN standards I am aware of.

D is the factory identifier, but Sea ray has never had a factory designation of "D", so that is a mystery.

And the M083 is supposed to be a date of certification (not of manufacture).......but the letter M isn't usually in the date code. Your boat may have an October, 1983 certification date which means it is probably an '83 or later model boat.

Cool thanks for the responce i was a but confused by the break down my self hense the post, i was told by searay (had to actually call to get register the owner change and for the owners club) that the d was a break down for Dancer (sundancer). I also called them because the title shows the boat as a 84 and so does there records appartly because of when it was registered or something it was assembled late enough in 83 to be a 84 boat. Could tell me were it was built though would love to know that.
Before 1 August 1984, the builder had an option to express the date portion code as a "model year". Believe your code means 1983 model year.
