I have a 2005 260 sundancer. This is my second year owning the boat. Just put in the water a couple weeks ago and the cabin floor is soaking wet.

I took apart the shower sump pump assembly. The float and pump appear to be working. No leaks under the head sink.

I keep vacuuming it up, come back the next, and wet again.

I was just going to replace both floats and sump pumps under the stairs.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anywhere else the water could be comming from?

Welcome aboard!

As a tip for you, in the future make you title more descriptive such as "My 05, 260 DA has leak on cabin floor". Please do not duplicate post it, just let it run its course.

Leaks in boats can be very hard to find... In my 230 I had a leak by one of the oval windows which I re-sealed twice. In the end I found the leak was coming from an aerial mount about 2 meters away and was tracking around the inside of the roof lining carpet!
Using tissue paper or blotting paper and pushing hard against the carpet from where the obvious leak is and working backwards while it is raining would be my advice.
Consider anything like windows, hull/deck joint and thru deck fittings as potential leaks.
The water will always wind up in the lowest point.

How much water are we talking? Gallons? Is it starting up front or working up from the bilge? Are your through hull fittings tight? Like Annie said, it may be difficult to locate and you will have to be systematic with your search. If your in saltwater, taste to see if the leaking water is salt or fresh so you can narrow it down a little.

Is this boat sitting in the watter?? Because dude, if its not coming from rain, the shower, or the fresh water tank your boat sure sounds like its sinking :wow:

First thing i would do is get it out of the water if you haven't already.

Hi, Alex Bay is a saltwater bay? So you tasted the water and it is salt? Or you tasted the water and it is fresh? That is important to do to figure your problem out. Have to start somewhere. Good luck! :)

When was the last time the bellows were replaced, if ever??? This boat is sinking, get it out ASAP.

We had a leak from our shower on our 260 da, it was leaking where shower floor meets the wall to which door is fitted. I stripped away the old silicone & resealed up both sides & along the bottom. I have also had water go onto cabin floor if curtain isn't properly over door when using shower. Do you have a lot of water in the bilge or is it reasonably dry ? If there is a lot of water in the bilge it will come to the front of the boat into the area around the sump pump under step and can overflow & go under step into the carpet.........just a couple of things to look at........good luck !

P.S. .....have just noticed that yours is a 2005 which is the later shape to my 2001 although the construction will probably be very similar ? Hope you sort it ok

My first thought was your sump. I assume you also checked any bilge hatches to make sure you don't have a compartment full of water. If it's not the sump or a full bilge, then my next question is, are you running the air conditioner? If so, your drain hose may be clogged, backing it up into the pan. Since a 260DA AC unit is located under the starboard side V-birth, the highest point, it makes a good case. If your sump was full and the float stuck, the drain hose to the AC would back up and spill over the pan too. Let us know what you find.

Ireland Rose, have you guys figured out where the water is coming from yet?
