    Hello Fellow Sea Ray Owners!

Bill and Tanya here, out of Stuart, FL. We are the proud owners of a 2000 Sea Ray 270 Sundancer w/alpha drives. We bought it in March of this year, and it has been a adventure ever since. As an owner of a boat that is more than 15 years old, it has been a challenge keeping everything in good working order. I am a member of the US Coast Guard and have been for the last 23 years. (so i guess my standards might be a little too high...lol)

The originally owners were an older couple who lived in Marco Island, Florida. Originally from Delaware, they were snowbirds and stay down here only about 3 months out of the year. When we saw the boat, it was in excellent condition. They kept on a lift, covered. We were excited because not only was it in great shape, it came with a lot of the extras, a radar, 2 GPS...ect... The engines only had 280 original hours and the generator had 16 hours.

The issues of the boat comes from the boat sitting for so long and not being used. Throughout the last 6 months we have been working hard to get all the boat systems running well again. I have a ton of operator experience, but little as a boat mechanic. We have mostly overcome those challenges and have started to really enjoy having the boat in the water...

After conducted a proper renaming ceremony, We have made several trips throughout the Stuart/Jupiter area and trailed it down to the upper Florida Keys. made an overnight trip up to Vero Beach and had a great time. We can't wait for next summer as we have big plans for a trips to Key West and Bahamas.

Were happy to be part of the blog, and look forward to exchanging information and meeting new people.

Welcome and congrats on the 270. You'll find a lot of great advice here.

Boatsman, welcome to CSR and thank you for a long career in the USCG and your service for our country.

Now you should know that we have one pretty basic rule here on CSR. If you don't provide pictures, it didn't happen. We all like to see photos of where other CSR members go boating and pics of their boats, so bring 'em on.

And again, welcome and thanks for your service.

    Welcome shipwreck!
I spent a quarter century in the blue water Navy myself so our little 270 is a far cry from what I was used to!
