Hi everyone, new to the site but not new to boating this is my third and my second Sea Ray,could not get away from the Sea Ray quality after owning one. I love these forums they are packed full of useful information and great people! Happy boating 2 all!

Welcome! The wife, kids, and I will be trailering up to Norris this summer... maybe we'll meet up. We haven't been on Norris yet and don't know where to go and where to avoid. We know we want to launch as near I-75 as possible so we can spend more time on the water and less time trailering. Any suggestions? If you ever come down to Ft. Loudon, we may see you there. We usually launch from Concord.

Trailered my 290DA to Norris Lk. last summer...quite an experience getting it down to the lake (Deerfield Ramp). Beautiful lake...good time.

Not really any where to avoid its a deep lake if thats what you mean. All areas of the lake are good to go to in my opinion. As for access not far from I 75 you can go to exit 122 NORRIS/CLINTON exit and launch at the dam which is about 10 minutes or so off the interstate. Hope to see you all on Norris or Loudon we are usually all over both lakes while out.

One thing I forgot to mention is we just acquired our boat 2 weeks ago from a bank repo so we have not taken it out yet. Its a 98 180 Bowrider with a 3.0 Mercruiser and Alpha 1 drive w/ a laser 2 SS prop, both cockpit and bow covers and a full Sea Ray cover, bimini top and large canopy top, CD player, depth finder, shorelander trailer and is in immaculate condition with 209 hours. Never had a boat with a hour meter but I am guessing this is very low hours for a 11 year old boat? And we got it all for $5800 out the door I think we got a good deal what do you all think?

Welcome aboard!! I've been going to Norris Lake for years and finally bit the bullet and purchased a 280DA last summer and keep it at Shanghai Resort. Norris is a great lake with not many obstacles when the lake is at or near pool level. You have to watch for rocks and shallow water in the fall when they start lowering the water levels down below 20' pool. Great fireworks for 4th of July at Sequoia (sp?) Marina. I think this year they are actually having them the weekend before the 4th.

We're usually on the hook in one of the coves around Pilot Island. Stop by and say hello!
