Hi Everyone !

I just aquired our first "real" boat, its a 73 SRV240, and it has been in storage since the fall of 2003. It was sort of an inheritance from my Uncle Jack...whom is meticulous in maintaining his toys. I brought it home an hour ago and can't keep the kids from climbing all over it ! :)

I am new to this, sort of, my Brother and I refinished a 65 Chris Craft about 15 years ago and did a decent job of it...there will be particulars I will need some help and/or memory refreshment with, this forum looks like the place to get this kind of advice.

The hull is good, no rot inside at all, it was stored indoors and winterized, but it has been so many years, I dare not do anything without some research. I will be putting it in the back of my wharehouse for the winter where I can get to work on it, all of the wood needs sanding and re-oiling, the carb will need to be re-built, and the fuel tank I suspect will need some attention. It was put away 3/4 full, and I guess that fuel will need to be drained and the tank flushed or cleaned in some manner.

Is there anything else I should do right away?

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated, I am pretty handy, but not aquainted with the details that will save me in the long run...

I'll have a few pics to post when I can figure out how..

Stay Safe !!

I'll put it in the wharehouse tomorrow and start to clean her up a bit.

My spare time between now and May is now spoken for

Have Fun Folks !
