Hi all my name is David and have been boating for approx 10 years, have recently upgraded to a Searay 290 DA with mercruiser 260hp diesel engine, my old tug was just too slow and it took days to get anywhereL, my new boat “Johanna” was registered in 1993 and spent most of her life in Germany until her previous owner returned to Ireland, she is currently moored @ Killaloe on Lough Derg which is one of our most scenic and largest lakes. Ireland has one on the longest inland waterway networks spanning the length of the island, lots of good fishing and pubs along the way. http://www.iwai.ie/maps/shannon-erne/index.html
 
Beautiful area you have to boat in there David.
Makes me long to come back there again for Holiday.

I wish we could get the diesels in the smaller boats over here! Tell us more about the performance with the diesel. What does it run at at full throttle? RPM's? Miles per gallon? Tell us what we're missing over here on this side of the pond!!

i was down in carrick on shannon at the weekend the weather was fab, you guys are so lucky with all that inland waterway, up here we get the blunt of the north atlantic..

It's so wet and cold this side of the pond that we hibernate for winter and have to take our toys out of play, just back in the water last weekend,
