Hello Club SeaRay!

Husband and I took the plunge and moved from blow boats to power this last summer. We have spent the last year in a Century 2600 WA cruising around Tampa Bay while selling our Beneteau 36 CC last June '10. We miss sailing, but as we grow older we've found that sailing was taking more effort than we had energy...it's suppose to be recreational boating!

Meanwhile, the husband unit stepped on a Dancer 340 at the boat show last month and was in LOVE once more. (A boy and his boat; it's a beautiful thing...)

Well, here it is Jan '11 and my 60 year old "boy" is signing on the line next Saturday. We will sell the Century, and head back to the high seas....BTW, the Century is a great little Bay boat. It is truly sad Yamaha shut their doors. I can't say enough good things about the boat in terms of fuel efficiency (2 Yamaha 150s), creature comforts, room, and ease of handling....sighhh...However, moving on...

Our "new" Dancer 340 is a 2006 that has been well maintained and has the Yanmar Diesel engines...big selling point for me, as I don't trust gas for inboards. Okay, I know 90% of the 340s came with Mercs or equivalent. Great engines, but as an old blow boater, it's hard for me to think inboards and gas...seriously hoping the diesels will help with fuel consumption as well...as we do like to wander.

I am a little concerned about the Northstar 6000i units for electronics; I had just done a total upgrade on my Century using the new Garmin touch screen series with HD radar and sonar. The Northstar unit performed well on the test ride, but I do feel like I'm stepping down a little....any thoughts on the Northstar gear would be welcomed.

We plan to keep our Dancer behind the house over in St. Petersburg...we are blessed with sailboat water, 6ft MLW, in and out of our canal. First trip, probably in January down to Captiva for an overnight jog....

The CSR forum is outstanding; it's already answered a number of questions for me, to include an electrical issue on the Century last summer. Looking forward to many more posts.

Thank you CSR members for great boating info, and see you on the water!

Yup, that's the one....it passed survey, with really minor cosmetics for correction. We had planned to not re-enter the market for another couple of years...let the stocks come back a little more. However, I just couldn't say no...the boat is sweet, and my husband was in love....
