Hi
I just came across this site and found such great info that I joined right away instead of lurking around as I usually do with new forums. haha. I see that there are some great people around here and am glad to have found the forum.

I recently inherited a boat from my dear departed Uncle Steve (RIP). He taught me to fish and and tried to teach me how to waterski on this boat so I have many fond memories of him and the boat.

A great example: We only went out to test the boat after he had installed a new thermostat. I insisted on throwing a pole in even though it was a hot afternoon and he didn't think we'd catch a thing. Lo and behold, the drag went a screamin and I caught a 6lb Largemouth at Lake Mead, which would have been a new lake record at that time.

Or the time I fought what would have been my uncle's trophy stiper for 30 minutes only to have it throw the hook! :smt021 haha

Through said inheritance, I have discovered the oxymoron that is a "free boat." :smt043

Steve's ex wife decided to challenge his will and get nasty with lawyers and such. She decided the best way for me to receive the boat as was by picking it up from impound ($!ouch!$). The whole thing was rather contentious and at one point I thought I would have to sell the boat which would have represented defeat and failure in my mind. But I wouldn't let that happen.

I've had a few mechanical problems, hence my joining the forum, but I will leave the questions for another post. Steve's X will not give me his manuals and service notes which has made things difficult. I'm very happy to have gotten it back out on lake mead and caught some catfish and stripers (see Pic) like I used to with my Uncle. We win! Screw the X! :smt038
There are stilll some issues I'll need to iron out though.

It's a 1988 SeaRay S-21 w/ a 5.7L 260hp Merc. I'm not sure really of the actual name of the model despite my research. I haven't found a manual online. I do know it was purchased in 1988 from Ashley's SeaRay in Las Vegas, NV.

I have named it "Even Steven" in his honor.

Well that's alot of info I know, but there ya go. Here's to Club SeaRay!
