Welcome to the club, you will want to put your boat information (year, model, motor, etc) in your signature. Again welcome to the club.

Welcome to Club SeaRay.

thanks for the welcomes, learning how to navigate thru this site slowly,i did not get a manual with the boat but it is in good shape.

I have never seen seals on any of the side windows on the old 260's. Just remove the black rubber insert to expose the screws. Then remove and re-bed the window with an appropriate sealant like 3M's 4000.

There seem to be an awful lot of the early 80's 260's showing up in our forum. It's nice to see.

Yes it's nice to see the older boats! I have a 260 SXL and the windows are just glued in.
Also, the smoke ones were kinda scratched so I re-did them with clear Lexan. Much brighter in the sun.

the seals i'm talking about are the ones that the windows slide in,i'm getting water coming in the track when it rains and it soaks my dinnete seat.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe those years may have scuffer holes along the inside. They are small holes along the inside of the frame to allow the water to run out(if you know about this my apologies) If so, check to make sure they are clear , if they are blocked the water will NOT run out. I think I had them on my 1978 Sea Ray weekender.

Re: those years may have scuffer holes along the inside.

Hello, New here as well, I had the same problem with mine with the windows leaking in the same spot it was clogged up with crap I cleaned it out and it was good to go, nice boat by the way:smt038 I have a 83 26' .

The Seals you are looking for are called "Flocking".They are made by Taylor Made Systems in Gloversville, NY. They also made the windshield as well as the side windows in the 80's Sea Ray's. I have bought and replaced the the "Track Flock" in mine. NOT cheap, about $3.00 a foot. And you will have to cut drain holes on the bottom to let water drain out. The old stuff had slotted holes, but they don't make that stuff anymore and you will have to settle for the new stuff. I don't have their phone number handy, but you should be able to search on-line to find them.

Good Luck.

yes the scuffer holes are clear,I noticed the track rubbers have shrunk over the years and have gaps in them, does anyone know of these,or where to get them?

thanks, I'll try to look them up. my wife and I like the older searays the have more apeal to us than the newer all white and no wood boat of today.

Re: those years may have scuffer holes along the inside.

I noticed you have a full camper top,is that off of a bimini top and are you able to stand and drive as well. I have a convertible top and have to sit to drive and looking to replace the old top next year. I'm trying to decide what top I would want to go with, I have a new bimini top and the old vinyl top that is about had it.
