Hello to all here at CSR. I'm Kurt a newbe to Sea Ray but not to boating, my brother & I co-owned a 1996 Maxium 2400 SCR from 2003 to 2008. It turned out not to be a 50/50 deal after he re-married and my new sister-in-law has 2 kids, so we sold it. I bought a 2004 Yamaha FX160 HO new in 04 and it still goes like a bat out of hell! This fall I found a cream puff of a 1996 Sea Ray 300 Sundancer w/ twin 5.7's and a genny and at one heck of a deal. So, so far so good, She has a few things to address but, hey she's going on her sweet 16.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Welcome to CSR and good luck with the Sundancer. Great boat.......I have a '98 270 and love it. This site has a wealth of information it's save me $thousands$ especially if your a do it your self-er.
I've had a couple of discussions in the past with friends about going partners on a boat but I always decided not to. I felt the that friendship it would eventually end in mayhem and carnage.

Welcome aboard.

Yes, I am as a matter of fact. And you?

Thank you! We like your black lab's name!

I was just in Sernia, ON, what a great area! Passing through, business in Petrolia.

Thank you, glad to be a boat owner again, and a Sea Ray owner at that. I had been looking for quite some time and wanted to make sure I was going to be happy and I think I'm going to be.

Thank you.
And yes I can manage quite a bit when it comes to DIY!
My brother and I had made a pack when we bought her, that we would not let her ever become an issue and that we would sell her, before she did, no questions asked. I think one of us would have bought the other out, but she was a good starter boat and we both learned over the 5 years we did own her, that we wanted more and a bigger boat anyway. Although funny thing, when we did hang that for sale sign on her, it was gone on 10 days. It was a sad day, because we both thought we would have for another 2 years trying to sell her and that we could have use her for those 2 years. I don’t think we really wanted to sell her because we both gained a great love for boating. Anyway, as it turned out, I guess we started early, before it became an issue.

I challenge the person who ever came up with the saying "The best two days in a boater life, is…yadda, yadda, yadda….. BS, we all know it’s Saturday & Sunday, it’s Friday night & waking up Saturday morning on the lake, it’s Monday & Tuesday, you get the picture…..

I quite possibly will be on Monroe next week if there is enough water to launch
vacation time starts Monday !!

You will be fine with water levels to launch. We need to wait till May 1 for the marina to open, counting down the days...

May1? Why? That's when they turn water on...or open due to the remodeling? I wouldn't be happy about that if I was a slip renter. I live close to B'ton and have been boating the past 3 weekends...waiting until 1 may would kill me.
