On the 320da, 04, the fan never cuts off. It is not on manual and when the compressor cuts off the fan keeps on going. It's this way with heat and air.:smt089

If you have the SMX control, the constant fan is the factory default setting. You can change that so that the fan only comes on when the compressor kicks in. It explains how to program that in the manual. I can not remember the sequence of buttons to push . I have mine set to come on only when the compressor comes on.

The thermistor for the Cruiseair is located on the compressor unit itself. Because of that, the manual will also tell you that if you choose to have the fan run only when the unit runs, you should relocate the thermistor so it is in closer proximity to the thermostat itself. I have experimented with the fan off when the unit is not running and find (at least on my boat) that it doesn't seem to sense the temperature variations quickly enough with the fan not running.

He was editing while I was responding, He actually edited out the phrases that allowed me to understand what he wanted. After seeing my response, maybe he just figured he had his answer so the heck with it. As long as he got it, It's all good. I forgot about the part with the thermister, Good catch Dave :thumbsup:

I cut the tie-wrap that held the thermistor to the side of the metal unit. I extended the phone-cord style wire and routed it out to the wall near the side of the bed. It's temporarily taped there (for over a year - oops).

In the summer, if I want the A/C to kick on in the middle of the night, I put my foot on the sensor - Wallah! A/C! In the winter, that would shut it off.
