Okay guys I need help.......The past week has been in the 20's and 30's, but my heat has worked (I have 3 units)....I went to put the heat on last night and all 3 are not working. It is beautiful today so not a freezing issue.....I am also getting no water coming out the thru-hulls....Odd that all 3 are not working....Sea strainers all cleaned and in good shape.

So are the pumps engaging when the thermostat kicks? Is their another panel in the ER maybe that has tripped. Odd that two separate systems are not working at the same time.

We just made the trip from cold to warm climate and along the way did a lot of switching from cooling mode to heating mode. We found that when switching to heat the units needed to cycle once before going into heat mode. By cycle I mean that they initially come on, but then shut themselves down after a few seconds. This is a programmed response. The unit runs in some kind of idle mode for, maybe, 10 minutes and then kicks back on in heat mode and works fine until the next switchover from cool to heat. This happened to us many time since we used cooling during the day and heat at night.

All that said, I think the pump was running during the idle cycles, but I am not sure. A pump not running in a single pump - multi compressor system is likely related to a bad trigger, but since this affects all units and two pumps, give thought to my first paragraph.

So from your trip video is sounds like you lost a water pump? Any idea why the other unit with the separate pump wouldn't work?

I don't know where you are. I had that problem last year. I found out that the system isn't made to work in water near 45 degrees (I think that's the temp). What happened to me was the condenser pipes would freeze up. I ended up using electric heaters. One thing you could check is disconnect the hose that leads from your pump to the unit. If water flows your problem probably is at the unit.

Jeff - that's exactly what my two units do - a 10 minute "pause" (idle cycle) when going into heat mode. My AC guy says do not use the units with water temps below 40° as the units will freeze the water pipes as they take heat from the water.

My goal is to never again be boating in 40 degree water, but the 10 minute lag is an eternity when the air temp dips on cold spring and fall mornings.
