In the cabin in my 340da, there is a gauge that measures how empty or full the holding tank for my head system. It reads empty, half and full. However, it is not reading empty, half or full. Only the Power light comes on but not the reading for the holding tank
Any ideas why it may the gauge is not working?

If you are sure the tank is 1/2 full or more and you have never seen the 1/2 light then perhaps your sensors are corroded or stuck in the holding tank. Mine are removable from the top and can be cleaned.

I agree with tbirdvet, you may have to clean the three probes in the holding tank, not as bad of a job as it sounds. It's not pleasant, but it could be worse. But, before you do that I would suggest to make sure the lights are not burned out. Have they ever worked? Good luck. R

Yes, the lights did work before. I remember reading them to see the level in the tank. Your suggestion to check sty slights is a good one.
So, 1), how do I check the lights and 2) if they are ok, how do I clean the 3 probes in the holding tank?

Here's a thought I had. Since only the light that comes on that displays: POWER, but none of the lights come on that say "empty" or "half full" or "full do not flush" ...... Then, could that indicate that the lights may be burned out?
I was wondering, if the probes need to be cleaned, then wouldn't the lights come on anyway and just show one level in the tank either empty or half or full?
