As far as bow riders go, are certain models equipped with a larger head compartment? Downsizing from a cruiser but need to be comfortable as well. Vacuflush is a must have. Looking at model years 2003-2009. On line it appears maybe the SD's are larger than the SLX's ? Thanks, Brian

I haven't looked at any of the slx heads but when we were looking at sundecks the one in the 260 was a little larger than the 240. We ended ended up getting the 240 because we just liked the whole boat better

The head on the 240SD is not a vacuflush but a self contained potty with a holding tank underneath the seat. There is no way to call it comfortable. Imagine crawling into a hole and crouching down while sitting on the head. We never used the head in the 4 years we had our 240SD.

Ours gets used just about every time we go out. It's not comfortable but is useable. It'll never be as nice as a sundancer head

I had a vacuflush head in my '04 270SD. They were an option in the 240SD also. Ours was roomy enough but it's height was the problem for the taller people...dropping drawers and sitting down was easy...trying to stand straight enough to get them back up was awkward...sometimes I'd open the door a little so I could stand up...hey, don't mind me.:smt043

Thanks all for the reply's. Maybe I'm asking for too much in a bow rider. Just thought maybe one style is bigger than the other. It's a must have for the wife. Thanks again for the reply's.

I've been unofficially looking at a bigger boat. SD or SLX, 240-270 range.
Coming from our 210 SD, I look at the head pictures & see a noticeably deeper impression in the floor on some of the boats.
A 210 is very very tight in the head.

Yes, that's what I noticed as well. More so with the SD's. Although a 250 SLX with a 496 is looking very attractive ;)

Saw just that boat on-line, in Texas. Appeared spotless. An '07 with a 496. Too far for me to go.
Local listing has an '06 290 SD on line. Very nice looking boat.
Saw it on the water yesterday. Pictures don't serve it well.

I have a 240SD and the head us usable but certainly not large. My boating buddy has an '06 25 SLX and there is absolutely no way I can fit in that head, just won't happen. There is a pretty fair size difference.

The head size in the "older" 240SD (which, by the way, is pretty much the same size as the current 260SD) is comparable to a 250SLX, but the nod goes to the Sundeck. So, if you can stop by a dealer and look at a new 260SD just to feel out the size, that will give you a good idea. As far as bowriders go, they're pretty good. But of course they won't compare to a cruiser. The 250SLX gets top marks for "looks", but in my opinion, the older 240SD is hands down a fantastic boat. Great performance with a load of people (350MAG is a great choice) and TONS of storage.
