Getting things ready to haul out this week. Should I remove the canvas before they haul? I plan to remove it eventually to have some repairs done and will be shrink-wrapping, but in the meantime I want to keep the canvas on to protect the cockpit if it's practical.

Anything else I should do pre-haul? Already had the holding tank pumped.

I leave our canvas until its ready to wrap but if you have a cockpit cover you could remove the enclosure ahead of time. I like to do that stuff on the hard, makes loading it into the truck easy.

Most folks change oil in the water pre-haul so you can get the oil good and warm without supplying cooling water, some winterize AC and genset before its out as well ( I do that after haul). You could fill the fuel tanks if you're allowed to store them full (I like having full takes in the beginning of the year, you can search for the annual debates about full vs not for winter layup)

Assuming you have access to the boat once its hauled, sounds like you're probably ready to go to finish the rest of the stuff on the hard.

Thanks, appreciate the advice!

Streck, funny, I prefer to unload everything when boat in water, no up and down ladders. And do all I can. Got water electric handy. On land, water and electric are sparse where I am.

Yeah, water and electricity at the marina

haha we all have our own system that’s for sure. Our winter yard has lots of power and water around and the walk from my slip to the parking lot is really far, so I wait til we’re out. Definitely dependent on location
