I have a 2005 260 Sundancer which that needs a new hatch riser arm and fittings. I found the Taylor Made 20" riser arm at West Marine, but I cannot find any source for the "foot" part that attaches the riser to the hatch with pop rivets. The "foot" is nothing more than a cheap nylon part, but even Taylor Made cannot help me locate that part. Anyone know of a source???

Just did this on mine this spring. The ex-admiral's kid used them as monkey bars - the last time he'll ever set foot on my tub....

Ok... rant over. I pasted a link for the whole assembly below. There's one caveat... the part where the handle goes about faces the wrong direction on these. I simply drilled the rivets out of the little black stoppers on the other ends of the aluminum rods, rotated the rods to get the part where the handle goes facing the correct way, and then replaced the stoppers using rivets that I picked up at ACE harwdare for a couple of pennies.

I used stainless screws and nuts (10x24, I think) to attach the "feet" to the hatch frame. Of course, I removed the hatch to accomplish this. The nuts fit perfectly into the channel that runs around the outside of the frame. I can easily replace them with a screwdriver if there is ever a need to. I would recommend removing and resealing the hatch. SR used the foam weather strip type of seal and it wasn't very good on mine. I ran a heavy bead of white silicon around the hatch and now she is bone dry all teh time.

Edit: re-read your post when it popped back up after I replied. I re-used the foot part from the old arms. Carefully drill out the big rivet holding the arm to the "foot". Attach the new arms to the feet using a #8 SS screw, a couple of washers, and a nylock nut. So, I can now remove just the arms, or the arms and the "feet" without removing the hatch.

Thanks for the info, but yeah, its the foot part that I'm looking for. Given that I cannot find that part I'll have to visit a few hardware stores and see if I can McGuyver something...thanks anyway!

I realize that this thread is quite old but has anyone had success with locating a replacement part or part number for the riser arm foot. I need to replace both #1722 hatch arms and also the foot which connects the riser arm directly to the hatch frame on a Taylor Made 20" x 20" hatch. Taylor Made was not able to supply a part number without the Taylor Made hatch number and I can only locate the Sea Ray Part number 1688217.

Oddly enough the #1723 hatch arm comes with the foot but the #1722 does not.

You're probably going to need to do what I did. Remove the hatch, drill out the 2 rivets holding the feet to the frame and the 3rd rivet attaching the foot to the arm. Replace all 3 with screws and reinstall the hatch.

Thanks skibum! That's what I plan on doing after reading your post. Very helpful in knowing what size screws and nuts to replace the rivets with. The foot itself that attaches to the frame is cracked and needs replacing as well. After multiple times on the phone with Taylor Made Marine I was able to find someone who was able to identify the foot as PN 1172140. Have 2 on order scheduled to ship 4/23. Hopefully they are indeed the correct feet and will work with the #1722 hatch riser arm I purchased.

Received the (2) feet today. They are indeed the correct ones to go on the #1722 hatch riser arm used on the Taylor made 20"x20" hatch to attach the riser arm to the hatch frame.

skibum and dbaker526, really happy to find this thread as my son decided more force was needed to shut the hatch and not simply loosen the locking knobs. Nonetheless, if I'm not looking to remove/reseal hatch can I simply drill out the rivets and pop new ones in? All the above info is extremely helpful. I appreciate any other input. Thanks

I suspect you might be able to if using rivets. I did remove the hatch and reseal. Not that difficult and by the looks of the old seal it was time to do so before leaks started. Also made it easy to drill out the rivets. I used stainless steel screws and nylon lock nuts in lieu of rivets.

Thx for reply dbaker. If your interested I'll happily post what I end up doing. For now it's functional enough so it may be put off for a bit. Thx again.
