Hatch Issue

Reached out to the Sea Ray Gods, fwebster and Capt. Rusty, got some Schematics from Cap but they're from the 2007 model that has access hatches I think? Frank recommended tweaking the switch till it catches. Will go down to the Boat tomorrow and start playing.

Bottom line is unless I cut access holes under the rear seat bolsters I ain't getting into the Engine room!...... And I ain't cutting!

Great Design!!

Still haven't heard back from Sea Ray Customer Service, sent an Email over the weekend.... today is Tuesday!

And I ain't cutting! Somebody is! The question is "Who?" & "Who pays?"

I say let Luis do it!

Just cut the hole and stop being a pansy already! You should have seen the Admiral's face when I cut in a hatch on the port side behind where the transom door opens to!!!!

One hole ain't going to do it! There are TWO rams!! One on each side! = 2 Holes!

Brewster, I'm going down with a Large "Challenge Coin" and see if I can find that Transom Door Switch you talk of!!

I had same issue hatch would not open. Door was latched in open position. Got to looking and the magnet that triggers to door came out so sensor was not seeing the door open

That switch may be malfunctioning. Had similar issue with a riding lawnmower. If you aren't in the seat (or if you fall off) the mower wouldn't start (or run). That microswitch was bad. Jumped the switch to get the diagnosis.

Well first off I want to thank all who 'Weighed In" on this Thread. Second I need to admit to being somewhat of a Jackass!!! Not only do I have one Access Hatch like Jim had mentioned, but I seem to have TWO!!!!!!

First one is where Jim said it would be .... under the aft cushion inboard of the Transom.
Second is outboard of the Transom inside the Hatch where the Shore Power and City Water Hook-up is.

Both give you access to the Rams and Pins.
We've had the Boat for 6 years and never saw these hatches ( probably because of all the S#$@ stowed in the spaces)

Still have the issue of getting the Hatch open but we're half way there.
Will probably use a Come-along and Forklift to open it, stopped by MM today and their guy's said it's probably the EMI! It has pop up fuses! Praying that's all it is!

Two things I want to add to this post, Nowhere in the Owners Manual does it mention the "Inspection Hatches" and what they're used for.

Second, Thank you to Sea Ray Customer Service for still not getting back to me!!!! 4 day's since I sent an Email!!

Good to hear that you found them. Hopefully the problem is the simple switch at the transom door so you don't have to climb around trying to find the problem below decks!

I would think a couple of guys could lift the hatch... take the aft facing seat cushion up to get a place to grab. Once you get it up, there is a fold down pole to brace it up.

Kenny, there's no Switch on the Transom door on a 310DA. At least not a 2008.

After your not finding the hatches that about 3 of us told you were there and where to look, I am reluctant to do this, but the 2008 310DA parts list shows the transom door switch on page 8, second item on the list right under the door. Those are magnetic switches and they can be difficult to get to work consistently, particularly if there is salt water and corrosion in the mix.

Good luck with it..............

I believe in this case, the Bazinga is implied.

Thanks Frank, I see it on the Parts Manual! And David don't Choke on that Popcorn!

That would be the side of the Boat that had the Sandy Damage... but you probably knew that Too!
