I helped my friend install new zincs this past weekend. The transom zinc was very light, over have the weight then my same size zinc. My friend said WM told him this is the new type of zinc and it will work better then the old type. It was not aluminum or magnesium. The zinc had the same numbers and the word zinc stamped on it as mine.
So what's up with these zincs?

Well zinc is zinc so if it is the same size then it must be hallow I would think OR it is a hybrid zinc material. Maybe that means it will deteriorate quicker? I would look on boatzincs.com and see if they say anything on that website OR look at the WM web and see if you can find a link and provide it, maybe we can take a look at it then.

What are the numbers? West buys from Martyr Anodes. My CMMZC406 for my 340 Sundancer weighs 6.75 lbs for zinc but only .55 of a lb for magnesium... and for fresh water you want the magnesium...
