Trying to figure out why my tabs aren't moving and I think Ive narrowed it down. I had some work done recently and while they were in there they added fluid to the reservoir but it didn't help. They thought it could be the solenoids but Im not so sure because when I push the tab buttons on my panel I get a loud click, both tabs and both directions. I'm assuming then that if the solenoids are in fact ok that the pump is done?

I am assuming you do not hear any noise of the pump motor running, correct? The solenoids are vales for the port and starboard Tabs. If you hear no noise from the pump motor go right to the pump itself and try putting 12v positive on the yellow wire an see if you hear it spin. If you do let me know, and we can continue troubleshooting. If no noise when you hot wire the yellow at the pump, the motor has failed and the unit (V351HPU1) will need to be replaced.

While you are at the pump look for any corrosion on the motor body under the lexan cover. Water damage is the leading cause of pump failures.

No noise, just the clicking. I'll try hot wiring and get back to you.

Thanks

Well I finally replaced the pump, super easy. Hit the button and the pump started pumping. Then I saw a nice bit of color in the water, so I guess that one or both of the cylinders are leaking :smt013 Yeehaw.

The O-rings can be replaced, see the post about O-rings.

On thing you can try with the boat in the water is to firmly twist the cylinder bodies clockwise to try tightening them into the top part and compress the static O-ring there. If that does not work the piston O-rings will need to be replaced with the boat out of the water.

Thats good info, thanks . I'll be back out this weekend and will give that a shot.
