I have an '86 weekender that could use new windows (the oval, plastic variety). Does anyone have any info to share regarding this project?

Thanks,

Joe

Carefully...no I did years ago on one of my 340s. Found that Sea Ray were cheaper. Got the inside rings also. They came off easy. Cleaned up the old glue and used 4200 3M on them. Man your hands get messy-use rubber gloves.
Good luck, you need 2 people also 1 in 1 out

I did one on my 86 WEr. Hope they were not put in with 5200. The actual port light has a little lip around the perimeter that sits on top of the bed of 4200 from the outside looking in. Make sure you have the exact replacement prior to removing the old light. The trim pieces can be spray painted to refresh their appearance.

Did mine last spring .I dont have inside rings though. The outer ring is snapped onto the portlight, mine were superglued ,new rings and windows or complete sets can be found on ebay just look for searayman13 he has them all.I used uv4200 when i replaced mine. Also to clean off the old silicone use a few short ice scrapers the clear acrylic ones that can be resharpened with very fine sandpaper, and lacquer thinner not acetone.

I did find the e-bay guy 1956OLDS mentioned (thank you), I'll get the materials ordered and take a few pics and post them (before, during and after) for anyone else get the same brainstorm I have. I will get it done when we get a nice Saturaday.

Thanks everyone for all the info,
